How to use a mini-greenhouse in the classroom
High School / Arts / Art
See how to put together a $20 4 shelf mini-greenhouse for use in your classroom or home. Also hints about starting plants. Part 2 goes into detail about starting seeds/plants, lights, electrical safety etc.. Watch out for some of the newer kits of this 4 tier mini-greenhouse. They have decreased the size of the pipe and plastic supports so much that they do not hold two full flats on each shelf without collapsing. Ask them to open the kit for you and see if the pipe outside diameter is about 5/8 inch. If not, do not buy them. Most of the new inadequate kits are also called 4 tier or four shelf mini-greenhouses. You may want to buy two of these if you find them on sale for about $10 at the end of the season. You may find you started too many seeds for one, and you will also have spare parts/cover if anything happens to one of these. I also have a larger almost 5' x 5' walk in portable greenhouse that goes on my deck when the weather permits. I can be emailed at [email protected]
