Review of The Natural Approach Language Acquisition
Elementary / Language Arts / Reading
For my original contribution project I reviewed and analyzed the book The Natural Approach Language Acquisition in the Classroom by Stephen D. Krashen & Tracy D. Terrell. I created and uploaded a video of my review on teacher tube (link below). I analyzed the four stages of literacy and language development, discussed what methods teachers should use in each stage, and applied the stages to my classroom. In the video I talked about Total Physical Response (TPR) and metacognition. The information I used on those topics came from two scholarly journals. TPR came from Al Harrasi and Talib Sulaiman (2014), and information on metacognition came from Kay Hong-Nam (2014). Resources Al Harrasi, K.,Talib Sulaiman. (2014).
