In 2008 Start Here, Go Places. sponsored a live chat event where students interviewed Scott Morency, CPA and a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Scott works as a Financial Statement Auditor, collecting evidence to support his clients' financial reports. Before being exposed to accounting, Scott believed the stereotype of accountants as isolated, math-loving, number crunchers, but once he took his first class in the subject he explored deeper into accounting. Now, his job has nothing to do with that stereotype.

In addition to sharing his career path with students, he answers questions about what it means to be a CPA, what it takes to become a CPA, public perception, interpersonal skills and fields questions like ""Are accounting classes interesting?"" and ""What is the best part of your job?"" He describes the opportunities being an accountant has given him to travel, work with upper management, and develop his knowledge base.
