A Video Installation
Working in technology, I have become disenchanted with the inherent loss of the sensorial experiences of art. My focus is to embrace a return to these experiences.
Using cotton string to outline a typical morning routine in my life, patterns emerged and were captured with Digital photography. The manipulation of photos, to almost oblivion, offers the viewers different interpretations of each pattern. Intertwining representational images among the manipulated images offers viewers a point of reference in understanding these patterns. Disparity is sensed with the use of technology in creating an artistic sensorial experience.
My choice of simple, pure lines, patterns and color is influenced by the Arts & Crafts aesthetics of William Morris, Edward Burne-Jones, Gustav Stickley and Frank Lloyd Wright. Beauty and harmony are revitalized in a return to sensorial art experiences. This interactive digital installation is meant to capture the aesthetics of the Arts and Crafts movement, where art and life are one in the same.
I hope you enjoy this installation!
