Sandy is an award-winning composer with over forty songs recorded and five chart singles to her credit. She has composed and produced hundreds of jingles and scores and is currently a forensic musicologist with expertise in music copyright infringement, sound-alike, and public domain issues. Sandy was asked by a music teacher to write a song that kids would like to sing, that would help them memorize the Preamble to the Constitution, and tie in with their social studies curriculum. "We The People" is the result of that effort. The response, support and encouragement of teachers, students, and the general public for more material like “We The People” prompted the next two videos, “She Still Carries A Torch” and “Four Score And Seven Years Ago.” Her idea was to make these projects fun, challenging, contemporary, and of the highest quality. To do that, she auditioned over 100 kids, asked the co-director of the Saturday Night Live Band to do the song arrangements, and used both a cinematographer and video editor/director from Ken Burns' production company. The historic chapters by Chris Stevenson and the lesson plans / activities by Dr. Fran Bisselle in the LEARNING HISTORY THROUGH MUSIC book bundle allow any teacher or school to use these materials across the curriculum
