Rain and snow come down and they hit the ground. Soak into the earth or they hang around in puddle or lakes. They evaporate up into the clouds where they condensate. Boy its cold up there but they are unaware as they grab some Dust and returns to us. They precipitate on land and lakes it’s the water cycle. Isn’t it great?

Further information:

The water cycle involves the movement of water from when it rains and then evaporates back into the sky. When rain falls, water is absorbed into the soil, while some flows down into rivers, oceans, lakes and seas. Water makes the land wet and some water bodies overflow due to excess, which can lead to a flood. But these cases are rare because the sun heats up the land, seas, oceans, lakes, streams and rivers and it makes the water evaporate. When the water on the surface gets above 100 degree Celsius, this water evaporates into the sky and condenses to form cloud. The condensation in the clouds is because of the low temperature at that region in the sky. The cloud holds this water for as long as it can. When the water in the clouds becomes too much (saturated), the water will then fall as rain. This continues over and over again and that is why water does not finish. It replenishes itself while changing positions.

When water evaporates it makes it clean and good for use and when it falls as rain into the rivers and streams, it becomes contaminated again by dirt and mineral in the soil; that is why water is purified before use by humans. Take note that the amount of water that falls as rain is not the same amount that evaporates and condenses in the cloud before the next rain. Nature doesn’t work that way. It is phenomenal but can be explained with a little bit of science as discussed above.

This video will enlighten kids on the origin of water. The water bodies on earth are bigger than the dry lands showing that water is very essential for our existence and the existence of other creatures.
