DISINFECTION OF WORKING TABLE FOR PRACTICAL IN MICROBIOLOGY

Disinfection is an important initial step in basic aseptic techniques in Microbiology. There is a need to minimize surface contaminants in an organized way, so that there are negligible chances of contamination.By taking a cotton plug soaked in disinfectant or an alcohol, gradually the surface is cleaned by swabbing in a circular direction, gradually increasing the diameter with an intention to remove or reduce unwanted surface microorganisms. Aseptic zone is between the flames and the vacuum generated above the flames of burners due to convection currents, is a zone to perform aseptic technique.
