This was a guided reading lesson on the five senses. Before we read the book the students predicted what the five senses would be by turning and talking with the person beside them and then sharing. We read a book that covered the five senses within the story. Then we went back and identified specifically what each sense is. I accessed their prior knowledge by using popcorn. We described the popcorn using our five senses. Lastly, we label a chart showing where the five senses are on a person. I wanted the students to be able to list each of the five sense and describe how we use each sense.
