Do You Trigger Breathing Emergencies?

“Do You Trigger Breathing Emergencies?” is a video recording of an original PowerPoint presentation with video clip demonstrations addressing one’s role in the triggers, signs, management, and prevention of breathing emergencies. The purpose of this video is to increase awareness of lung disease and recognition of breathing emergencies caused by indoor and outdoor air pollution to encourage responsible personal behaviors and actions to protect the air, oneself, and others in home, school, and community environments. Demonstrations include proper use of an inhaler, epi-pen, peak flow meter, spirometer, and pulse oximeter. Brief attention is given to population vulnerability for lung disease and international responsibility for air quality as well as air purifiers and different purpose masks for personal protection. Statistics highlight the increasing national and global impact of air pollution on the incidence of incurable, unpredictable, and potentially fatal respiratory disease limiting the activities and social lives of individuals and their families and friends.
