These clips are from a lesson I taught on "Heroes." This was an introductory lesson to "The Epic Hero" before students began reading The Odyssey. Students examined traits of Heroes, The Hero's Journey, and what constitutes an Epic Hero in literature. At the end of the lesson, students researched information about the god/goddess of their choice that they have already learned about in class. They had to write an essay about their character and relate it to the traits of an epic hero. They also had to draw a visual representation of their hero to be displayed in the hall.
