Teachers from coastal North Carolina attended a two week summer session which exposed them to many of the resources of coastal North Carolina. The program was conducted by The Science House at the NC State Center for Marine Sciences and Technology (CMAST). Lead instructor Dr. Vicky Thayer with assistant Amy Sauls (Island Amy) provided an intense hands on workshop that provided teachers with the resources they need to make "Coastal Connections" in their Classrooms. The Coastal Connections MSP Grant is a partnership between the NC Department of Public Instruction- Jones, Carteret, Craven, Onslow and Pamlico public schools and NC State University's The Science House at CMAST. The program is directed by Dr. Pat Curley, Director of The Science House at CMAST. Special thanks to Sea Wolf- Erica Walker for her great work as photographer and movie maker!
