This is an introduction to the English Access Microscholarhip Program. It is in easy English for intermediate-level learners. _____ What's Access? – intermediate What's Access? I'll tell you a little bit about it. Access's a program for students to learn English and also learn about computers and about helping our community. In Access, we become leaders. Access is for teenagers. I'm an Access student. I love being an Access student. The full name's English Access Microscholarhship Program. That's a really long name, so you can understand why we usually just call it "Access" or sometimes "EAMP". Access's an American program that exists in many countries. It's funded by the US Embassy in each country where there's an Access program. I don’t remember exactly how many countries, but I think it's in about eighty. Our teachers're from our own country, but sometimes we have special teachers who come from the US. The students're teenagers. One surprise for me was that Access is completely free. We don't pay anything. My family's a little poor, so this was good news for us. I've never left my country yet. I want to, but I'm still just fifteen. Although I've never left my country, I've made many Access friends in many parts of the world. "How is that possible?" you might ask. We've become friends on the Internet, by writing letters, making videos, and having Skype chats with Access students in classes that are very far away.
