It?s me, Mrs.Ramirez. <br> And I?m going to preview, the Drawing Station.<br> At this station, you will learn about the Art Elements of Color and Line.<br> And the Art Principles of Balance and Unity.<br> Don?t forget, Elements and Principles are 2 of our Quack-a-Demic Vocabulary words.<br> If you hear Elements and Principles, be ready to say ?Quack! Quack? and be ready to tell all about it.<br> What are the Elements and Principles, you ask?<br> Elements are the things that you will see in your art, like colors and lines.<br> Principles are the ways you will use the Colors and Lines to show Balance and Unity.<br> Today, you will draw Balance lines on shrink film using a sharpie and a straight edge.<br> Then, you will use harmonious colored pencils to fill in the spaces.<br> Are you ready to give it a try?<br> Great!<br> First, hold the straight edge firmly with one hand.<br> Slowly press and trace a straight line with a sharpie across the film.<br> Move the straight edge to a new location.<br> Hold it firmly and trace the next line.<br> Kindergarten artists will draw three lines.<br> First grade artists will draw five lines.<br> Second grade artists will draw seven lines.<br> Now, write your name neatly on the film.<br> You are ready to choose your 3 harmonious colors!<br> Remember! Harmonious colors look great together. <br> Will you choose the primary colors? Yellow, red and blue.<br> Or will you choose the secondary colors? Green, violet or orange.<br> Maybe you like the warm colors. Yellow, red and orange.<br> Or perhaps you like the cool colors. Green, blue and violet.<br> Whichever colors you choose. The colors will help create unity in the project.<br> Colors on the side with the sand and texture with your 3 harmonious colors, so that they show balance together. <br> If your colored pencils break, you will need to use the hand sharpener.<br> Be careful. That blade is sharp!<br> Hold the sharpener firmly over a black dish.<br> Carefully put the pencil in the hole and begin rotating the pencil.<br> You will start to see the pencil shavings coming off the side of the sharpener.<br> Continue rotating the pencil until your can see the sharpened tip in the sharpener.<br> Pull out the pencil carefully and tap the pencil shavings over the dish.<br> You are ready to keep coloring.<br> After the film is baked,it will look like stained glass.<br> Goodluck!<br>
